Reading Reports
How to interpret trends and scores across Amplefound's dashboards without over-reacting to noise.
Amplefound surfaces a lot of numbers — visibility scores, share of voice, sentiment, keyword positions. Knowing how to read them matters as much as having them. This page covers a few habits that will help you interpret reports accurately instead of chasing every small fluctuation.
Look at trends, not single data points
Search rankings and AI visibility both move day to day, sometimes for reasons that have nothing to do with your content — a competitor publishes something, an AI model updates, Google tweaks its algorithm. A single day's dip rarely means anything on its own. What matters is the direction over weeks: is the line generally climbing, flat, or falling?
Compare like with like
When comparing yourself to competitors in AI Visibility, remember that share of voice and sentiment are both relative to the specific Prompt or Topic being measured. A brand can have strong share of voice on one Topic and none at all on another — that's normal, and it points you toward exactly where to focus rather than being a verdict on your overall visibility.
Sentiment needs context
A neutral sentiment score isn't necessarily bad — plenty of accurate, matter-of-fact AI answers are neutral. Pay closer attention when sentiment turns negative, or when a competitor's sentiment is clearly more favorable than yours on the same question. That's the signal worth acting on.
Give new content time
If you publish an Article or make a change based on an Publishing Plan recommendation, don't expect an immediate jump in rankings or AI visibility. Both traditional search and AI systems take time to notice and incorporate new content — usually weeks, sometimes longer for AI visibility specifically, since it depends on the underlying models being updated with fresh information.
Use reports to prioritize, not to panic
The most useful way to read a report is as a prioritization tool: which Topic has the biggest visibility gap? Which competitor is out-performing you on a Prompt that matters to your business? Which keyword is close to breaking onto page one? Answering these questions with your reports is what turns data into a next action — which is exactly what feeds your Publishing Plan.
