Topics
Topics group related keywords and content themes so your visibility efforts build toward something coherent instead of a scattered list of terms.
Topics are the broad themes your brand wants to be known for. Where Direction sets the overall strategic compass, Topics break that down into concrete, workable groupings — the subject areas your Keywords, Prompts, and Articles all organize around.
What Topics are
A Topic is a cluster of related ideas, questions, and search terms that belong together. Instead of managing hundreds of individual keywords with no structure, you manage a handful of Topics, each of which can contain many related Keywords and Prompts underneath it.
For example, a fitness studio might have Topics like "beginner strength training," "nutrition for muscle recovery," and "injury prevention" — each one an umbrella for dozens of more specific keywords and questions people search or ask AI assistants about.
Why Topics matter for AI visibility
AI assistants don't answer based on single keywords the way a search engine does — they synthesize an answer from everything they know about a subject. Having strong, well-organized coverage across a Topic (rather than one lucky keyword ranking) is what makes an AI assistant likely to recognize your brand as a relevant source when someone asks a related question.
Topics also make it easier to spot gaps. If you have ten keywords under "email marketing basics" but nothing under "email deliverability," that's a visible gap you can act on — both for traditional search and for AI visibility.
How Topics are created
Amplefound generates an initial set of Topics automatically from your Website Scan and your Direction. You can review, rename, merge, or remove these, and add new ones as your strategy evolves.
Using Topics day to day
- Browse Topics to see how your keyword and content coverage is distributed
- Use Topics to decide where to focus your next batch of Articles
- Check a Topic's overall visibility to understand which subject areas are strong and which need more attention
Topics are the organizing layer that turns a pile of individual keywords into an actual content strategy.
